A Bad Day!

Sometimes it just happens...a day in which everything you try to do goes wrong. Well maybe not everything, but many things go wrong in one day.

Last Friday, a public holiday, I started the day at the beach with Stefania. The plan was to go to exiles, spend a day there, and afterwards go for our daily jog, rest for a while at home and then meet Paul and the great troupe of people at Gianpula.

So...right after the beach, we prepared the jogging stuff but before, we decided to go on a quick errand in Paceville using my car. We arrived at Paceville, did the errand quickly (with Stef waiting in the car infront of Intercontinental Hotel, since i found no parking).

All was ready and settled, however I went into my car (a rented car I currently have before I go abroad) and the car would not start. There was totally no engine or ignition sound, just a click. We started panicking a bit since the car was not correctly parked. I tried to contact the renting agency but to no avail...why do these things always happen on Public holidays?

Anyway, we decided to phone RMF, a towing company. The guy from RMF came..simply touched the safe starter, or whatever it is, with a stick and the car started. WOW..great that was easy... Lm 20/Euros 46.59 please!!

Well although the cost was quite high, the car was once again on..by that time, it was a bit too late for our daily jog. So Stef and I decided to go home, have a quick rest and then go to Gianpula.

All was sorted and at about midnight we arrived at Gianpula for a great night out. All went quite well over there..we met Marcon and Lisa from class and soon afterwards our friends also arrived. Paul and Brian, as usual, were great company with their little nasty jokes, Cynthia once again was a great dancing partner, whilst Ruth is so nice to have around! On the other hand Stefania is a great companion to go out with...it was absolutely a great night!

And what is best to bring a great night to an end...Pastizzi from Serkin in Rabat. So I joined Paul and the rest in Cynthia's car to go for Pastizzi. Obviously, for dietary reasons I refrained from taking any, alhtough I had a nice cup of tea, and we chatted the early morning away on a bench in Rabat.

When going back to Gianpula the bad car day continued. I realised that my car key went missing. We started searching for the blessed key in Cythia's car but it couldn't be spotted. It was decided to continue the search at Rabat, next to the bench. The search was also a failure...so I decided to go into the Pastizzi shop and check over there. It was no where to be found on the floor. But upon asking the shop owner, he said that he had found a key and alas there it was, my precious car key being handed over back to its rightful owner :)

We all headed back to Gianpula to collect my car. All tired by then, we couln't wait any longer to get into our beds.

After saying goodbye and went through the round of kisses we Maltese are so known for, especially since Cynthia was with us, I went into my car and upon ignition the car didn't start. The click sound was back. Give Me A Break!!

Paul and Brian came to the rescue again. We stood there looking at the car like a bunch of engine experts, who we are not. Anyways, earlier on I had seen what the RMF guy did. So i got a pipe, and hit the safe starter with it (I learnt what a safe starter was!)..and to our surprise the car ignited.

At that time..with sun rising...the plan was drive quickly home before anything else goes wrong..I mean with such a bad car day, what else could go wrong?

The bed was soooooo comfortable and I quickly dozed away into Wonderland where nothing ever goes wrong ;)

Song of the day:

A special thanks goes to Cynthia, Paul, Brian and Ruth for their pateince during my bad day!
